History

The Journalism Departmental Publications collection contains departmental newsletters for alumni of the undergraduate and graduate programs published between 1987 and 2007. Since 1991, the department has also regularly published a magazine originally known as Chicago Arts and Communication, which was renamed Echo in 1997 after Scott Fosdick took over the role of Faculty Advisor to the publication from Don Gold. The collection also contains publications with a narrower focus: Warp Ten, a science newsletter, and Wanderer, a magazine that sometimes published travel writing and sometimes published student and faculty profiles. The Columbia Chronicle, a student newspaper published by the Journalism Department, has been published since 1973 and is housed separately in record group 11.07.
