Early Photography Collection

Introduction

The Early Photography collection contains examples of photographic processes ranging from daguerreotypes (invented 1839) to celluloid film (invented 1888). The strength of the collection is the series of stereographic postcards dated from 1894 to 1905. The entire collection dates from 1877 to 1922 in 2.31 cubic feet

Effective Public Speaking

Introduction

Gallery 312 was founded in 1994 by Lewis S. and Anne Neri Kostiner as a nonprofit art organization at 312 North May Street in Chicago, Illinois. The Gallery focused on the development of local artists and exhibited works by local and international artists alike. The Gallery 312 Collection is a student-centered study collection illustrating gallery operations from a working gallery.

Harrington College of Design Special Collections, 1902-2012

Introduction

The Harrington College of Design Special Collections books were acquired by Columbia College Chicago in 2015 when Harrington College announced it would close by 2018. Harrington College was founded by interior designer Frances Harrington in 1931. The collection contains books and publications on architecture, interior design, and fine art from 1902-2012.
