Student Handbooks

Introduction

Columbia College Chicago publishes a yearly student handbook containing relevant information about the college. The Fiction Writing, Film, and Photography Departments have also published handbooks for students studying within those departments. This collection contains college-wide handbooks dating from 1966 to 2017 and departmental handbooks dating from 1973-2000 in 2.60 cubic feet (two boxes).

William Russo Collection

Introduction

William "Bill" Russo (1928-2003) was a composer, conductor, musician, teacher, and author of Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, Russo was the founder of the Chicago Jazz Ensemble at Columbia College Chicago, the founder and Director of Chicago Free Theater, and the director of High School Jazz Festival. The bulk of this Collection includes scores composed by Russo and audiovisual materials.

WIND and WBBM Radio Scripts, 1943-1945

Introduction

The WIND and WBBM Radio Scripts Collection is approximately 0.19 cubic feet in size and dates from 1943 to 1945. The scripts come from the personal papers of Helen Mary Knox, a writer and broadcaster for those stations in the 1940s. They provide insight into life in Chicago during World War II, including commercials for local stores and interviews with servicemen sponsored by the US Treasury Department.
